    The Chef de Partie is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen.  The ideal candidate will be organized and able to prepare meals in a timely manner.  This position reports to the Sous Chef.

     

    Job Focus

    • Directs as well as prepares food served in section using established production procedures and systems
    • Responsible for all dishes prepared in their section
    • Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards
    • Stores food properly and safely, marking date and time according to regulation
    • Correctly prepares all food to be served following standard recipes and special diet orders
    • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to ensure excellence in quality, temperature, preparation and appearance
    • Maintains a neat and clean work area at all times; including cleaning and maintenance of equipment used in food preparation
    • Monitors quality and presentation of all dishes prior to service

    Desired Qualifications

    • Prefer one to three (1-3) years of experience in their culinary specialty and knows how to manage a detail-orientated kitchen
    • Must have proper knife cuts and skills
    • Current with culinary concepts, practices and procedures
    • Current experience in the hospitality industry in a kitchen
    • Knowledgeable and experienced in his/her culinary specialty
    • Organized and able to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment and be well aware of good sanitation principles
    • Able to run the line and communicate between all sections of the kitchen and restaurant
    • Has a great positive attitude and a passion for great food
    • Culinary degree preferred but not required
