  • Job Description

    Responsible for the coordination of the balance sheet account reconciliation process, issuance of periodic financial statements, and fixed asset control

    Job Focus

    Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

    • Performs all functions in accordance with applicable GAAP, Gaming Control Board, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and SLS Las Vegas policies and procedures
    • Plan and monitor the Accounting department’s balance sheet account reconciliation process and fixed asset recording and reconciliation on a monthly basis
    • Prepare and maintain monthly schedules that summarize debt activity including, debt roll-forward, deferred financing costs roll-forward, interest accrual, interest expenses, etc
    • Attends, and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and required
    • Assist in coordinating internal and external audit requests
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Assist the accounting management as needed to complete ad-hoc projects, month-end and year-end reports.
    • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis on a monthly basis
    • Participation in all activities related to the monthly close process, including accurate & timely preparation of journal entries (supported by well-documented reconciliations), and the timely research/resolution of various business matters that have accounting implications
    • Assist the accounting manager in any research of monthly journal entry and account reconciliation related questions
    • Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports
    • Complies with department policies, procedures, internal controls and gaming regulations
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Desired Qualifications

    • Minimum three (3) years of accounting experience in gaming/hospitality environment, or large regional CPA accounting firm
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
    • Strong organizational, planning and communication and PC skills (MS Office Suite)
    • Knowledgeable in creating and analyzing spread sheets and in using a ten-key by touch
    • Minimum 18 years old and have the ability to obtain appropriate gaming license if applicable
    • CPA, or in active process of obtaining CPA license, preferred
    • Previous experience with Infinium or related Accounting system preferable
    • Working knowledge of US GAAP
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
