  • Job Description

    The Executive Director of Hotel Sales is responsible for developing and generating room nights and catering revenue through convention/meeting group sales as well as all applicable leisure/transient segments. This is an advanced level position that will lead a sales office in the solicitation for new business and the maintenance of existing customers

    Job Focus

    Focus is on, but not limited to the following:


    • Providing strategic direction, mentoring, development, and leadership to all employees
    • Implementation of sales initiatives to increase sales accordingly
    • Evaluation of best methods to include online, convention and group sales
    • Monitoring and analyzing trends so we are always prepared and proactive to changes
    • Continual review of prospect and tentative bookings, sales solicitation plans, activity levels, and booking pace
    • Implementation
    • Participation in professional organizations for networking, enhancing relationships and business development
    • Creating strategies to enhance referral opportunities and network with current contacts to uncover potential clients
    • Prepare and interpret weekly & monthly reports

    Desired Qualifications

    • Five (5) or more years’ experience in destination management sales or related position in a 1000 room or more hotel preferably in the Las Vegas market
    • Five (5) or more years’ experience in managing convention and meeting business
    • Proven ability to manage all functions within Hotel Sales
    • Knowledge of Las Vegas hotels, venues, activity and entertainment offerings and logistics associated with operating programs at each
    • Must be able to utilize the internet and other electronic media to maximize the property’s exposure to new contacts via third party websites
    • Proven track record in pursuing, evaluating soliciting, selling and confirming business as required in order to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability
    • Must have intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
    • Must exhibit a focused attention to detail, while working in a high-pressure environment
    • Must be self-motivated to see tasks through to completion
    • Must be able to maintain excellent customer service skills while maintaining high service standards in a stressful, constantly changing work environment
    • Must be fluent in the English language, both written and oral.  Multilingual skills are a plus
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
