  • Job Description

    This position requires an experienced, high-energy person to proactively generate new business, provide account management for new and existing accounts and work with other sales team members to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals

    Job Focus

    Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

    • Identify and pursue prospective group meeting and transient business from free market information, as well as information from purchased lead sources, analyzing historical and other statistical information (market segment, account mix goals), participating in conducting customer interviews and preparing customer call analysis report
    • Solicit group business directly and jointly with others through the preparation, execution and completion of Action Plans
    • Maintain, prospect, independently solicit and book business
    • Develop, Create and Maintain customer relationships to achieve optimum market share
    • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the CRS system and GDS system
    • Manage the hotel’s RFP process/rate negotiations according to rate structure and guidelines laid out
    • Maintain product knowledge at all times including all relevant rate structures and promotional offers
    • Plan and execute sales trips in line with the Sales and Marketing plan both national and international
    • Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices with customer representatives confirming reservations by letter and drawing up contracts; sign for the hotel and obtain customer signature to close the transaction
    • Upon closing, coordinate and follow-up with other hotel departments to ensure delivery of superior guest's services
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by procedural guidelines
    • As directed, compile and input market intelligence information to the Sales Information Management System
    • As directed, participate in trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel, the industry and customer organizations
    • Achieve established room nights and revenue as outlined by the agreed upon goals

    Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and/ or twenty-four (24) months as a National Sales Manager, or equivalent industry experience
    • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Hotel Sales Manager, preferably the West Coast Market preferred
    • Computer Literate (Microsoft Word, Excel)
    • Selling Skills at minimum above the industry average. Incumbents, who have not completed these sales techniques, should be well versed in prospecting, rate and contract negotiating, business planning and telephone sales
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
