  • Job Description

    The Financial Controller will be responsible for the General Ledger, Financial Close, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, and Inventory Control processes.

    Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

    • Supervise, lead and continue the development of the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Inventory Control team
    • Ensure all transactions recorded into the general ledger are timely and accurate
    • Review and ensure all balance sheet accounts prepared by the general ledger team are reconciled accurately and timely
    • Oversee the distribution of Profit and Loss statements to all internal business units
    • Assist company management with any research requested regarding financial performance
    • Assist Planning and Analysis with the monthly forecast/budget versus actual analysis
    • Supervise the Fixed Asset accounting process, policies and preparation of all required fixed asset schedules
    • Assist in Treasury functions required for the company, including cash management and cash forecasts
    • Prepare all debt related entries, maintain reconciliations and ensure timely issuance of all debt related payments (including EB5 debt)
    • Assist in preparation of various monthly or quarterly financial packages delivered to the company owners or lenders
    • Ensure accounting records and practices adhere to the accounting policies adapted by the company
    • Ensure the accuracy and timing of the financial sections of reports, as well as the adequacy of information included
    • Liaise with the external auditors, overseeing the quarterly financial statement reviews and the year-end audit, responding to interim review and year-end audit queries
    • Research accounting literature and apply technical standards and analysis to complex or non-recurring business issues and transactions. Prepare written accounting memos documenting such issues/transactions for review by management and external auditors
    • Monitor the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies, including FASB, SEC and PCAOB, and evaluate the accounting and reporting impact of new standards. Additionally, monitor trends among other SEC filers to ensure the Company’s reports are in line with industry and overall practices and standards
    • Assist the Vice President of Finance, Executive Director of Financial Planning and other finance members, as needed, in the management of the monthly close process and related analysis
    • Other duties as assigned

    Desired Qualifications

    • BS/BA in Accounting
    • Preferred working knowledge of Infinium, AS400 and Blackline
    • 10(ten) or more years’ experience in Accounting/Finance
    • 2(two) or more years Public Accounting experience
    • Experience within the Gaming industry is preferred
    • Skilled in U.S. GAAP and SEC Rules and Regulations
    • Hands on experience with Extensible Business Reporting Language tagging
    • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming License prior to hire
