Job Description

The job purpose of this role is to be responsible for the month end close including general ledger work paper analyses

Job Focus

Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

  • Performs all functions in accordance with applicable GAAP, Gaming Control Board, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and SLS Las Vegas policies and procedures
  • Participation in all activities related to the monthly close process, including accurate & timely preparation of journal entries (supported by well-documented reconciliations), and the timely research/resolution of various business matters that have accounting implications
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis on a monthly basis
  • Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports
  • Assist the accounting management as needed to complete ad-hoc projects, month-end and year-end reports.
  • Assist in coordinating internal and external audit requests
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in account or finance desired
  • Two (2) years’ experience in accounting or similar
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal forms
  • A professional demeanor and attire is to be maintained at all times
  • Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to working independently with little to no supervision
  • Must be able to perform in a team environment
  • Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of staff and leadership
  • Previous experience in a high-end luxury Gaming or Hospitality environment is desired
  • Previous experience with Infinium or related Accounting system preferable
  • Must have exceptional time management skills
  • An intermediate to proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is preferred
  • Proven ability to resolve guest conflicts with ease or determine if management is needed in certain guest situations
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
