Job Description

The Accounts Payable Clerk, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, either personally, or through subordinates, ensures that all vendor bills are processed in accordance with company policy and in a timely manner

Job Focus

Focus is on, but not limited to the following:


  • Assemble vendor invoices, purchase orders, receiving documents, and other required documents for payment
  • Ensure invoices are processed timely and accurately in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate new vendor setup in accordance with company policy
  • Ensure that all employee expense reports are in compliance with company policy
  • Input wire transfer requests
  • Review payments for accurate and complete supporting documentation
  • Ensure that all AP batches are posted correctly to the general ledger
  • Review open receiver report to ensure items over 30 days old are reconciled and acted upon appropriately
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • Ensure that department policies and procedures are documented and up to date as needed
  • Consistently and continually meet deadlines as assigned
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required
  • Attends, and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and required
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • One to two (1-2) years Accounts Payable related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience with Stratton Warren preferred
  • Previous experience with AS400 (Infinium) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical reviews and ability to interpret significant data relationships
  • Must be organized and show an ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable for job responsibilities
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills, customer service and team oriented, self-starter, and professional maturity
  • Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills and exhibit composure and professionalism while under pressure
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
